From Curiosity to Craft: Helping Small Businesses Thrive, One Book at a Time
Hi, I’m the founder of ZenOrisca, and I help small business owners feel calm and confident about their finances through thoughtful, accurate bookkeeping.
It wasn’t always clear that this is what I’d be doing. In fact, math wasn’t my favorite subject growing up—it was just something I got through. But years later, I found myself in a full-time math course, and to my surprise, I fell in love with it. The logic, the order, the way everything clicked into place—it felt like solving puzzles, and I couldn’t get enough.
That led me to a long and rewarding career as a Business Analyst in the IT field, where I worked closely with data, processes, and people—helping teams make smart decisions and run more efficiently. I also come from a family of teachers, and that love of clear communication and helping others make sense of things has always been a big part of who I am.
But something inside me always wanted more—more freedom, more purpose, more connection. I wanted to build something of my own. I wanted more flexibility, more meaning, and a work life that reflected what I truly valued. I started exploring, and that’s when I discovered bookkeeping—and everything clicked again.
Bookkeeping brought together all the best parts of what I love: numbers, structure, solving problems, and helping people in a practical, meaningful way. And honestly? It’s therapeutic. There’s something deeply satisfying about bringing order to a messy set of books and seeing the relief on a client’s face when everything finally makes sense.
So, I trained, got certified by Intuit and the Digital Bookkeepers Association, and started ZenOrisca—a business built on trust, calm, and care. I'm also a Intuit QBO Proadvisor.
